The Team

Our team is made up of four, year-thirteen boarders from St Paul’s Collegiate School. This group of young innovators developed the KiwiPrune as part of their coursework for their Agribusiness class.

With the idea then taken in to the Crocodile Pit, a Dragon’s Den style business pitch. They came a commendable second, the team have now been selected to showcase KiwiPrune at the Fieldays Innovation Hub, as well as being the only young innovators selected in the Prototype Category.

Courtney Malloy

My name is Courtney, I live in Tauranga on a kiwifruit orchard with my family who all work in the kiwifruit industry. We grow lots of green and red kiwifruit, so I am very involved in the development of our tool as I have experienced the struggle without this tool at firsthand having worked on our orchard for many years.

Maddy Anderson

My name is Maddy and I have lived in England for 16 years of my life and recently moved to New Zealand to be closer to family. I am very adaptable and am able to make the most of opportunities which I think will help us, as a group, to excel in our business. I don’t necessarily come from a horticultural or agricultural background however, I am passionate about learning more about it.

Libby Meredith

I love Fieldays Young Innovator of the Year and to have an opportunity to be part of it is very exciting for me.

Casey Purves
